Biography: I am Ms. Veronica Liset Casas. I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. Since the age of 14, I felt in my heart that I wanted to be a teacher. After graduating from High school, I immediately followed that dream. I eagerly pursued my teaching career at Cal State Fullerton, where I received a Master’s in Education, a B.S in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I had the wonderful experience of being a kindergarten teacher for the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District for 10 years. During these years, my love for teaching young children grew deeper and stronger. On a spiritual level, through prayer and religious study, I also received a deep appreciation and love for my Catholic Faith, so I decided to leave the public-school system to dedicate all of my energy and efforts in support of our Catholic Schools. Recently, I have worked for the Church as an Early Education Teacher in grades TK and Preschool. I rejoice in the special privilege of seeing the development of each student as they blossom emotionally and cognitively throughout the school year. I truly enjoy teaching early literacy skills through phonemic awareness and engaging reading and writing activities. I love sharing in the excitement of a child’s first reading and writing experiences.
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is based on the foundation that each human person is a special child of God who is to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe that a good teacher is one who teaches by example. I strive to provide a loving classroom environment where my students believe that they are special members of a community as they develop positive relationships with their teachers and friends. My instruction includes various learning opportunities that will enable each child to develop self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and many virtues that will motivate them be the best of themselves. Most importantly, I want my students to know that I trust them and that I am here to support them in reaching their highest potential. I look forward to providing a fun and exciting Pre-school program at St. Joseph. Our little Spartans will bless our school with their presence as they enjoy many hands-on learning experiences with literature, music and play. I believe that young children learn best through PLAY and loving relationships. My happiest moments are when I see the beautiful smile of a child who is in awe and excited about discovering and exploring something new! Aside from my love of teaching young children, I am enjoying learning how to sew! During my free time, I love reading books about the lives of the Saints. I love nature and contemplating on God and his creation.
