My name is Nancy Hernandez and I am the Kindergarten teacher. I earned my bachelor of science degree in Child Development from Cal State Fullerton. I have worked with preschool through kindergarten age children for over 25 years and love it today as much as I did when I first started! I grew up in Placentia and graduated from St. Joseph School; I returned in 1997 as a kindergarten teacher and then began directing the preschool in the year 2000. Our school started a Transitional Kindergarten in 2014 and I am so happy to be a part of it! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the wonderful families at St. Joseph School over the past 22 years! I am married and have 3 children that all attended our preschool program. I enjoy watching and being involved in my children's sports and activities and spend much of my time on a baseball or softball field. I am also a big Angels Baseball and LA Clippers fan! When I have spare time I love going to the movies!
Teaching Philosophy
I strive to provide a Christ centered, safe, loving, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow at their own optimal rate. I believe children will reach their full learning potential if they develop a love of learning through a variety of hands-on, child centered activities. I want to instill the love of Jesus Christ in every child so that they may spread the Good News as they continue to grow and develop.
