My name is Caitlin Clark and I have been teaching 2nd grade at St. Joseph School since 2019. I received my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies along with my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach in 2017. I completed and earned my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University in 2020. I am so thrilled to continue my journey as an educator in both my own personal academic achievements and those of my future students (you guys!) at St. Joseph school. I will continue to encourage my students to grow in their faith, strive to meet academic excellence, and help facilitate their development into well-rounded individuals.
Teaching Philosophy
My time as a teacher has revealed truths in my life that will continue to shape my career for years to come. First, teaching is more than a profession; it is a vocation. I have been called by Christ to do His work through the ministry of teaching. Second, learning is a process in which knowledge is gained from new and old experiences, challenges, and collaboration with others. Being able to be the one to lead individuals in that process has shown to be a blessing and one I truly value. Finally, education is a collaborative, team effort. It is through active communication and fostering relationships with parents, students, teachers, administration and the parish that I am able to more successfully meet the needs of both my students and their families.
Education is a life-long journey for students to embark on. It is on this journey that they learn who they are in the image and likeness of Christ. As they grow and develop, they discover their talents and treasures which can be shared with others. St. John the Baptist De La Salle lovelingly said, “To touch the hearts of your students is the greatest miracle you can perform.” I pray that the example I set for my students, your beloved children, touches their hearts and the hearts of their families as I walk with them and nurture an environment that is prayerful, loving, and rooted in Christ.
I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you in His care.
